As a therapist for over 20 years, I have been privileged to walk alongside so many adults: young, old and young at heart - through so many phases and transitions, facing an endless variety of life's challenges. I am fond of saying I carry the flashlight to point out paths and possibilities for consideration, always from a positive perspective. My life as a therapist has evolved as an imperfect human through life's complicated choices, twists and turns and different career opportunities. All are additive, expanding my experience, understanding and acceptance of possibilities - meaning I have more to share with you. My past clinical focus has been in: anxiety, PTSD, trauma, depression, substance abuse, hospice, palliative care, chronic and severe mental illness, and LIFE. Life is a long series of transitions, and we can absolutely be our own best navigators.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first meeting, I like for us to get a sense of how we connect. I want you to know whether or not I am your person. We can exchange some background information and history regarding what brings you to therapy. And, I think it's important for you to have the opportunity to ask about my experience. I Can't wait to meet you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist. You are the expert in you and therefore the subject area expert in our joint endeavor. My only interest is in your successful outcomes, as you define them. It will always be my honor to walk with you, flashlight in hand.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Being open to adjusting our perspective of how we look at a challenge is often the first step in recognizing behaviors that do not serve us and adapting new practices. I have been utilizing CBT techniques in my practice for almost 20 years: thoughts lead to actions/behaviors that we can change!

Strength-Based

We all have talents and traits that support us best, and yet we so often focus on characteristics that we do not like about ourselves. Focusing on our weaknesses, which will most likely always be our weaknesses, probably doesn't serve us. I am focused on empowering my clients to grow and adjust in order to accomplish their goals to live their best lives.
