Hello! I am Meagan, a therapist specializing in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and working with at-risk youth. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques in my practice. My aim is to assist you in understanding and managing these conditions through evidence-based interventions. We will work together to identify negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and improve your overall well-being. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with at-risk youth. I understand the unique challenges they face, and I am here to provide guidance, support, and promote positive change in their lives. I hold a special place in my heart for vets. As a veteran, I understand the unique challenges that veterans face, such as depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. My approach is solution-focused, aiming to help you overcome obstacles and cultivate a healthier and more fulfilling life. Whether you're struggling with transitioning into civilian life, maintaining healthy relationships, or managing the impacts of your military experiences, I am here to provide guidance and support.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session, we will do brief introductions of one another. Next, we will go over expectations that I not only have for you, but what you have for me! We will then review the assessment forms you completed to ensure we address any imminent concerns. Then we will review the best part, why you have taken the big step! Our first session will assure that we are a fit for one another and address any concerns you may have moving towards your path of healing!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths lie in my ability to create a compassionate and non-judgmental space for my clients. I firmly believe in establishing a strong therapeutic alliance built on trust, empathy, and respect. This foundation allows for a safe and supportive environment where clients can openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My experience as a veteran and juvenile detention counselor has gave me a unique ability to adapt to most situations presented to me and I utilize that skill with each individual I am lucky to be granted access to.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to help individuals learn to focus on present thoughts and beliefs. My goal is to teach people that while they cannot control every aspect of the world around them, they can take control of how they interpret and deal with things in their environment.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

For many people, it is often more important to find solutions than it is to analyze the problem in great detail. SFBT places the FOCUS on discussing solutions than problems . Of course, we will discuss the problem to find a solution, but beyond understanding what the problem is and deciding how to address it, solution-focused therapy will not dwell on every detail of the problem you are experiencing.
