May I have the privilege of helping you discover how wonderful you really are? I am a 1990 graduate of the University of Maryland’s School of Social Work. I have a MSW, with a concentration in clinical social work. I am licensed as an MD LCSW-C. I have extensive knowledge and experience in working with clients who are seeking clinical support with issues across the mental health/wellness spectrum.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our initial session you should expect to be given a brief introduction sharing with you who and what I am as a person/therapist. and how I approach working with clients. I would also like for clients to take the opportunity to share with me a little bit about themselves and to touch on the issues/problems that they are concerned about. My main goal for the 1st session is give clients a chance to decide if they want to work with me or would like to be referred to a different therapist.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I am a very eclectic provider, who will try any method of care that has the potential to be helpful to a client's progress in the therapeutic process. I tend to use Cognative Behavioral methods with Strengths-Based Methodology. I tend to be a solution-based short-term therapist.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I am a member of the Rainbow community and have experiential knowledge of some the stuggles that members of the LGBTQI+ community encounter in life. I am an older therapist with special skills relating to issues that affect older clients and their caregivers.
