I am a licensed professional counselor with 20+ years of experience providing inpatient and outpatient counseling and crisis intervention for experiencing substance abuse and mental health issues. I specialize in working with adults from late teens to older men and women experiencing substance use disorders, depression, trauma, grief, and improvement of mindfulness. I have a passion for helping people become the best version of themselves. I also have a sense of humor and find it helpful in the therapeutic process. I am known for building a good rapport with clients and I look forward to gaining your trust as you work through your issues. Typical treatment modalities in my work with clients include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and Client-centered (deep listening and non-directive) approaches. Appointments are typically held weekly and you will be able to see my availability on the posted schedule. Don't hesitate to reach out to me about scheduling or any other questions, as they come up. Again, I'm so glad you have taken this first step. I believe, with support and guidance, you can make great progress. I look forward to accompanying you on this journey!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Strengths: Working with clients who have substance abuse disorders is one of my biggest strengths since spend the majority of my career working with this population. I also have a passion for working with the geriatric population reassuring them that they are not alone. Mental health stigma tends to be strongest among older adults who often fear that their symptoms will lead to hospitalization or rehoming.
