I am a strengths-based, relational therapist that works well with teens, adults and families who are experiencing anxiety, depression and overwhelm due to major life stressors. I provide grounded and practical feedback to support client's in reflective thinking which can aid in behavior and mood changes. I am trauma-informed and understand (and teach) the impact that trauma can have on, not only our mental health, but our physical health as well.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
First sessions are used as a get-to-know-you, for all parties involved. During the first session I want you to ask questions, just as I will of you. I will use our time together to learn about your current challenges as well as your history with mental health symptoms. I will want to learn about your family, who is in your support circle, and what "a life worth living," looks like you to.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My biggest strength as a provider is my empathetic and down-to-earth spirit. I believe that the energy that I bring to session allows my client's to "let their hair down," and truly be themselves. Although I may provide education and practical feedback, I also enjoy laughing and basking in the silliness of it all- with each of my client's. I pride myself on being able to have "hard," conversations with parents and families, however, remaining non judgemental and curious through each interaction.
