Hi, I'm a licensed clinical Social worker based in Florida. I received my Masters from Florida International University and have experience for more than 6 years. I help clients, whether young adults or much older older adults, who are struggling with adaptable coping with life stressors or life changing events. I work with clients by being supportive and helping them gain more adaptive coping skills which they can utilize to overcome challenges that they are facing. I believe that therapy is a collaborative approach and I like to start with trust building and start where the client is at.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will start the therapeutic process with brief introductions and we will explore and identify challenges or road blocks you are facing. This will help us to formulate a plan we both collaborate together to develop so that we can identify realist goals we can work on together for follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with newly diagnosed stroke patients through their stroke recovery process for the past 5 to 6 years has helped me to develop sharper skills clinically to help client's identify what their needs are with respect to their challenges and how to better assist clients in working towards resolving their issue(s) and reaching their goals by way of the therapeutic process.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients who have experienced life changing events such as dealing with a health condition, life cycle changes or changing careers but lack the appropriate skills to cope with these changes in a more adaptive manner.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This treatment method has worked well to help clients focus on what they want to achieve. This places the power back on the client because it helps clients identify their strengths and resources. My experience has been that this treatment helps the client identify their goals more clearly. It helps move the client forward in the therapeutic process to resolve his or her problem.

Motivational Interviewing

This treatment is very effective in dealing with clients who are ambivalent. It is a treatment that is effective with addiction populations however, it is also effective with geriatric and young adults newly diagnosed stroke patients in their ambivalence centered around being able to neurologically recover from the deficits resulting from a brain injury.
