Hi there! I'm Jeff, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Arcadia University, and though I have been practicing with a license for 6 years, I've been working in the mental health field for almost 14 years. I help adults struggling with trauma to process and resolve their painful experiences, as well as those coping with depression and addiction.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After the first session, my clients usually tell me that they feel relieved and hopeful for the next session. I practice nonjudgmental curiosity and unconditional acceptance in order for my clients to feel safe while dealing with uncomfortable thoughts or experiences.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked in the field in a lot of different roles and have learned a lot about trauma and how it can affect people; I can draw on this experience to connect to you and help you to feel that I'm truly in your corner and here to help. Also, if I could go back in time and start all over again, I'd still become a therapist. I truly love what I do and I show that passion in my care for my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this treatment method to help people understand the way their mind works, as well as how to challenge negative thought patterns.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is useful for helping to manage through extreme emotions, difficulty accepting things that happen to you, or for learning communication skills. Its very hands-on things that you can implement to make your day to day a bit easier to deal with.

EMDR

EMDR is a very effective treatment for PTSD. We essentially will re-process the traumatizing event together in order for you to feel safe enough to move on from the trauma and have some relief from its symptoms. It can be a bit intense but it works a lot faster than other trauma treatments.

Schema Therapy

This a very useful therapy for people who have been living with trauma for a long time or if you've had struggles in childhood that are only now starting to affect you. Traditionally its used for personality issues or for trauma. We use imagery and learn how to treat ourselves better when we get triggered, as well as understanding deeper parts of ourself.
