Recognizing the need for help is an important first step. In fact, rather than acknowledging a weakness, it is a sign of strength. I want to help you to build on that strength to achieve success in the areas you are struggling with. Specializing in relationship dynamics, I invite individuals, couples, and families to improve communication, resolve conflict, and build skills to manage anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and more. Christian counseling, men's issues, and family roles are additional areas of special focus I provide. I believe in personal responsibility, the reality of options at your disposal, and your ability to make decisions that are good for you with clarity. Ownership results in liberty. I would be working with you to help things make more sense and see a path forward.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with a brief introduction, then dive into the challenges you are facing. This will help us create a tailored plan to work through in follow-up sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Since one style does not work for all people, various approaches are used to address these deeply important issues. I do my best to determine what works most uniquely for you and your circumstances; we will work together to determine the best approach. Approaches often considered include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Skills that are part of these include anger management, conflict resolution, coping skills to manage anxiety or depression.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Working with individuals, whether facing a major change, a loss, or wrestling with a mood condition, it can get overwhelming. An overall goal is to help you recognize your strengths, acknowledge what needs work, to see yourself fairly, and address the issues with clarity. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I see couples struggling with communication and conflict. Through misunderstanding and misinterpreting, people easily get to false conclusions. I do my best to help you clear that up and gain confidence about what you give to the relationship. I help repair and rebuild the connection between partners, teaching evidence based skills on how to state needs, set healthy boundaries, and bring harmony back into the relationship.
