Hello, thank you for visiting my Grow Therapy Page. Finding a good fit in a therapist can take effort and time. Congratulations on beginning the process. As your therapist I will provide a supportive non-judgmental and confidential space for you begin your healing. I work with clients on their chosen goals. In order to create a safe space we might work on grounding, mindfulness and other resources in the beginning. My speciality is working with people who have experienced trauma/traumas in their lives. Trauma varies in severity and all type of trauma can lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I am a highly skilled Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner. I also am trained in many other therapy techniques. I also proved treatment for depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder and other mood disorders.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe self compassion is something most people can develop. People with PTSD often have a strong inner critic. By mindfully noticing these negative thought distortions you can begin to challenge them. I will teach you skills and practices that can help improve your self perception. EMDR can decrease flashbacks, nightmares and take the power out of traumatic memories.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize attachment focused EMDR techniques. The goal is to help you gain a new perspective of yourself and to heal from the trauma. In addition to EMDR I also am skilled in DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing ,mindfulness and IFS or Internal Family Systems. I often will weave these techniques together. The session will only include issues you have identified as areas you would like to work on. I will support you in the process and help you gain a sense of hope. Navigating relationships is also a big part of healing. Interpersonal boundaries can be identified in the sessions. The goal is for you to feel better and be able to experience more joy and less distress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

A strong therapeutic connection is the foundation of therapy. As an experienced therapist I establish this early in the process. I am engaging and focused on you and your issues. I am not afraid to get into discussion of painful memories. I have helped 100’s of people with their trauma using EMDR and trauma grounding skill. I emphasize self care and self compassion. The skills I share and teach can be used for many challenging life situations. Therapy can be a balance between self-acceptance and a willingness to change what isn’t working. Repetitive negative thoughts are challenging but with practice of skills you can begin decrease them.
