"As a highly experienced Licensed Professional Counselor with 27 years in the mental health field, I aim to empower individuals to find inner strength and confidence and to believe in themselves again. I work with clients through a solution-focused and CBT approach to identify and develop the skills needed to resolve their unique challenges and situations. I help clients to embrace their truth and live in the present, encouraging them to take responsibility for their actions while also reminding them that it is ok not to be perfect. I have a breadth of experience working with youth and adults struggling with various mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and grief. In addition, I have specialized expertise in working with caregivers, primarily women, to help them overcome guilt, isolation, and overwhelming stress. My ultimate goal is to provide clients with the tools and resources to change their circumstances and improve their mental health well-being. " I believe everyone has the ability to overcome life's challenges and deserve to live a happy and healthy life."

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session the client can expect that I will ask a number of questions about their biopsychosocial background, in order to understand their presenting situation and why they are seeking counseling at this particular time. The client can expect me to collaborate with them in accomplishing their goals. They will receive assignments after each session, that will allow them to build their skillsets which will enable them to manage life's situations and challenges. We will review and discuss each assignment

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use CBT, helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected and feed into each other. Helping them identify and understand Thinking Trappings like (Catastrophizing and mindreading) and educating them on the importance of challenging those thoughts and looking for the evidence to support or refute the thought. As well as teaching the importance of practicing mindfulness. Another method is SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-based) goals. Providing tools to improve communication skills such as assertiveness skills, conflict resolution and the importance of understanding what it means to validate or invalidate themselves and others.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I would identify the following areas as my niche women, relationship issues, caregiver issues and career counseling.
