I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) serving clients via Telehealth, throughout New York State. As your therapist, it is my priority to create a safe and supportive space that promotes growth and positive change. I have been supporting people from the comfort of their own homes via telehealth since 2019 . Most people find it very easy to work with me. My very relaxed style opens up the channels of communication easily, promoting a feeling of security and trust.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be more like a two-way interview. I’ll get to know you, and you’ll get to know me. I will ask you questions to help me better understand your primary issues and concerns, as well as your history in terms of other events in your life, family, childhood, and career. However, you are welcome to ask questions too. In order for therapy to be successful, it is imperative we establish a client/therapist relationship that is supportive and honest. In fact, it is the nature – and the quality – of our relationship that will determine the success of your overall therapy goals. Most people find it very easy to work with me. My very relaxed style opens up the channels of communication easily, promoting a feeling of security and trust.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As your therapist, it is my priority to create a therapeutic atmosphere that promotes growth and positive change, for you. I look forward to working with you to address your challenges and realize your goals. Therapy is a process that can move you toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the life you desire.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT in my practice since I became licensed in 2011. I help my clients identify the problem area. Next, we examine their thoughts, feelings so they become more aware of any negative thinking patterns that influence their behavior. This allows for these types of thoughts to be challenged in the future, resulting in a different outcome.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT along with CBT to further expand upon the skills to reduce maladaptive behaviors and to integrate acceptance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help with behavior change through the identification of solutions rather than staying focused on the problem. By the time people come in for treatment, they typically have some ways of coping that work well, so we want to increase and expand upon those. We want to look at what is working and do more of that as well as what isn't working, so we can identify a different way.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use Mindfulness Based Therapy to teach the skills of non-judgment, patience, open-mindedness, trust, non-striving, acceptance, and letting go. These principles create an integrated approach that is particularly effective for people struggling with depression.
