Choosing the right therapist is an important decision. Please book a free, 15-minute consult call so we are both sure our connection is a good fit. If my posted availability doesn't fit your schedule, visit www.SunriseLCSW.com and send me a message. I am accepting new clients on a case-by-case basis. I typically work with individuals aged 16-50(ish): - Young adults exploring life and career goals - Mid-career professionals feeling stuck or wanting to develop confidence and leadership skills - Students: Undergrad and Grad; High School juniors and seniors - managing social and academic stress - Individuals seeking to build confidence and a sense of self - unpacking trauma and neglect - Individuals wanting to improve their relationship with their loved ones - unlearning patterns from past relationships - Empty nesters looking to write their next chapter - LEOs and Veterans - Trans/NB/genderqueer folx exploring identity or considering gender confirming surgery - evaluation, letters, and ongoing therapy - Individuals grieving the loss of loved ones - including suicide loss - Family/friends of Trans/NB individuals learning to support their journey Whether it's coping with change, navigating relationships, tackling depression or anxiety, dealing with trauma or grief, or improving self-esteem, I'm here to help. I'm a seasoned therapist and I approach therapy as more than just a quick fix. Recognizing that the road ahead might involve some tough work, my role is to provide a comfortable and supportive space to make your journey a bit smoother. Sure, I can share some effective techniques for fast relief, but the real aim is lasting change. Let's work on helping you become your most authentic self.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We'll have a quick consult call to make sure we're a good fit before scheduling our first session. In our first few sessions, our main focus will be on exploring your story, your goals, and any obstacles you're facing. From there, we'll work together to create a goal plan. I love it when my clients are curious about their own experiences, asking questions and exploring new perspectives. I want you feeling supported and motivated to keep exploring and growing until our next session. My hope is for you to feel understood and to have a clear picture of how we'll move forward together. Successful treatment completion is as diverse as my clients themselves. For some, it's achieving their specific goals within a brief therapy period, feeling equipped with tools to tackle challenges as they arise, perhaps choosing to return for tune-ups or focused sessions when needed. Others find success in ongoing support, feeling that continued sessions offer them a steady source of guidance and growth. It's about finding what works best for each individual—whether it's a brief yet impactful therapy experience or an ongoing, supportive journey toward personal development.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist and leadership coach, I love working with people as they navigate their journey of self-discovery. It's an honor to be able to support people through their growth experiences. I love the process of growth and learning that therapy offers. Laughter is great medicine and I value the healing qualities of relationships, nature, and creativity. Therapy is different for everyone, so treatment methods are individualized based on your needs. I use an eclectic mix of methods with elements of mindfulness, psychodynamic, cognitive and solution focused therapy, and leadership coaching. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and am certified in Affirmative Therapy for Transgender Communities and Rational Living Therapy (Level I).

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy helps us understand the hidden reasons behind your thoughts, feelings, and actions. We explore past experiences and how they might be affecting you today. By talking through things in a safe and supportive environment, we uncover patterns that may be holding you back. This helps you gain insights and make positive changes in your life. It's like shining a light on the parts of your mind that you might not be aware of, so you can live a happier, more fulfilling life.

Trauma-Focused CBT

TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) helps people who have been through tough experiences, like traumas or difficult events. We work together to understand how these experiences affect your thoughts, feelings, and actions. We'll learn practical skills to cope with tough emotions and thoughts. We'll also talk about what happened in a safe and supportive way, so you can heal. A TF-CBT framework gives you tools and a safe space to work through tough experiences, so you can feel better and move forward in your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) helps you understand and change the way you think and behave. We work together to identify patterns of thinking that might be causing you distress or holding you back. Then, we find practical strategies to shift those patterns. It's like learning new mental habits, so you can tackle challenges with a clearer and more positive mindset. We also focus on practical steps you can take in your everyday life to feel better and reach your goals. It's about making lasting changes for a happier and healthier you.

Gender-affirming therapy

I am certified in Affirmative Therapy for Transgender Communities and able to provide letters in support of gender-confirming surgery for my active clients. Gender Affirming Therapy is a supportive, affirming approach designed to help you explore your gender identity and live authentically with confidence. Our sessions are a safe space to address communication strategies with family and significant others regarding identity, pronouns, and other important experiences, assisting you in navigating these conversations and fostering understanding and support from your loved ones. Sessions may involve discussions about gender dysphoria, social transitioning, hormone therapy, and surgical options, based on your individual needs and journey. Tailored to the unique needs of transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals, our work encourages self-acceptance while helping to navigate interpersonal and systemic challenges.

Grief Therapy

Our sessions are a gentle space for you to navigate the often complex feelings that come with losing someone or something important to you. We'll talk about your memories, experiences, and any struggles you're facing and find ways to cope as you heal. I am experienced in supporting individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide, understanding the complex layers of this loss and offering specific guidance and compassion tailored to this unique grief. Together, we'll work towards finding a sense of peace and acceptance.
