My name is Stephen Johnson and I am an LCSW. I graduated from Indiana state university with a bachelors and masters in social work. I have worked for the VA for three years and focused on PTSD using CPT-PTSD. I am trained in ASPI for safety planning for individuals struggling with SI. I enjoy working with individuals and families to help meet their goals in treatment through the healing process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session an assessment will be completed to gather information from the client on needs, as well as some background history to build a rapport with client to create a plan for services moving forward.

I practice active and empathetic listening skills to help understand where the client is coming from and how I can based assist the client. I am strengthen focused in helping clients find their own strengths to work through challenges and opportunities for growth. I want to work WITH clients to help them reach their goals.

I enjoy working with clients who have a desire to make positive changes and are ready to work toward goals in treatment. Individual, family and group therapy are all areas that I have worked in and enjoy with challenging dynamics and learning about individuals' strengths.
