Hey there, I’m Chris and I look forward to meeting you! Are you feeling overwhelmed and it seems like everyone has advice to give but you don't think they truly understand what you are saying or the extent of what you are experiencing? Do you feel unheard and misunderstood? In working with me, I want to provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental environment; one, in which, you feel like somebody finally "gets it." I believe in working with you as a teammate (yes, I love sports); we are in this together. I cannot do the work for you; I can be in there with you providing encouragement, tips and strategies, insight, and other perspectives. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Behavior Specialist (BSL), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Child/Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP) in Pennsylvania with 19 years of professional work experience. I am the owner of Prebble Counseling Services LLC providing Virtual appts only, at this time; I offer evening sessions (4-9pm) and some weekend availability, as needed. I have worked beside clients through coping with addictions, trauma/abuse, parenting issues, neurodivergence, work/life balance, relationship/attachment issues, family conflict, anger management, LGBTQIA+ stressors/transformation, child/adolescent stressors, and couples’ work. Also, I have provided therapy in a variety of settings including inpatient drug/alcohol, state prison, community-based behavioral health (wraparound), and group private practice. I treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I have experience working with individuals (ages 3-93), couples, families, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I have been described as caring, helpful, and compassionate with a good sense of humor who isn’t afraid to occasionally “tell it like it is.” I look forward to working alongside you in your journey to be the best version of you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first 2-3 sessions are a lot of "getting to know" each other; I will provide initial tools and insight to start our work together; however, I also know early on, developing the foundation and trust of our therapeutic alliance is crucial. After these first few sessions, my goal is for you to take a fresh perspective and new insight to provide motivation and a grounding focus to carry you through to our next session. I will also provide you with various tools and strategies to keep in your “toolbox” to help maintain your motivation and focus between our meetings. Each follow-up will include processing how you used your tools (I’m not going to allow you to throw them on a shelf to collect dust and end up covered in rust) along with any barriers you may have experienced in applying what you have learned. We will then go back to our playbook, reevaluate, and adjust, as needed.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest area of strength is working with individuals diagnosed with neurodivergence or Autism Spectrum Disorder; this includes parents, family members, caretakers, and friends who provide support and assistance to these individuals. I not only have specialized training with the most current evidenced-based approaches, but I have 20 years of experience as a mother raising a child with ADHD and Autism; I was also diagnosed, at age 36, with ADHD myself In 2021, I became a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP); my training focused on working with children to heal their bodies through play and art. I have recently completed various trainings in converting this approach through telehealth also. One of the biggest strengths, that others have pointed out and brought to my awareness, is my ability to connect with clients, not only as a professional, but as a person who is real, authentic, and genuine; this allows me to connect with somebody who may have had difficulty connecting with therapists in the past. I am a therapist who uses self-disclosure; this is never an attempt to compare or "one up", it is my way of expressing that, "I get it" and can empathize through my own experiences without making our sessions about my experiences.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I use various evidence-based treatment strategies and interventions. I believe everyone is unique and what works for one person will not work for another; therefore, I do not use a “cookie cutter” approach to treatment. I am not certified nor registered in each treatment method I use: however, I have had extensive training to use the strategies and interventions I employ from various treatment models
