Hello and welcome. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. Reaching out to a “stranger” to enter your life is the hard part, my goal is to provide a safe environment where you can explore and enhance your strengths that will empower you to find strategies that support you through life’s challenges. Focus on allowing you to become the “captain” of your voyage in life and joining you in various parts of this journey. There are many times in our lives that for brief periods we just need some support and guidance around the challenges we face whether it is intrapersonal (within our own self) or interpersonal (with others), or just coping with changes that occur during our lifespan. Our goal is to empower your inner resources to live your authentic self in this journey of life. I encourage open communication and connection with those I work with. I utilize various modalities and fit the experience to each unique individual, couple or family. It is important that we utilize all aspects of our “selves”, including physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, introduction of therapist and style as well as identification of the areas that you are looking to address. Discussion of communication in sessions, development of a safe environment, identification of goals and expectations of therapist and client are discussed.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Having worked for 30 plus years with various client populations in different settings allows me to understand the impact of emotional, physical and spiritual well being. I focus on the fact that each of us are the "captains of the ship" and that the therapist is a navigator to the process of life in its different stages. I see therapy as a tool when there are "bumps in the road" and allowing one to feel empowered.
