Hi! I'm Evelyn. You can call me Yeye. The "e" has a short vowel sound. Once we meet, you can hear how it sounds. So you've decided to start therapy. It's a big step to take, but one that can take you through a journey of self-discovery. My work as a therapist is to provide compassionate mental health services to those who are looking at healing and moving forward on their life journey. With over 25+ years of experience in working with youth, adults, couples and families, I strive to support each individual I work with as they explore and learn about how best to honor themselves. My approach to mental health and wellness goes beyond managing symptoms. While working with you, I will simply guide you through a path of discovery so that you can examine, reflect and challenge yourself and the collectives that are a part of your environment so that you can live a meaningful and purposeful life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

As we work together expect to be nurtured, challenged, honored and respected. Think Rapport and Relationship! Our journey is about YOU finding new ways to create a life that will bring you a new sense of meaning and purpose. I want to share one of my favorite quotes that my mentor shared with me when I began my journey as a therapist... "Live your questions now and perhaps without knowing, you will live along some distant day into your answers." ~ Rainier Maria Rilke

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

So after being in this field for over 25+ years, you can say I learned a little about myself and what my strengths are. My passion encompasses working with PTSD, depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, working with veterans, and indigenous cultural healing.

My treatment methods

Somatic

A lot of my work is based on the biology of meaning. We often forget that when we come across challenges in our lives, our body is the first to respond. This is why I have an affinity in taking individuals through a journey of how their body initially responds to stress through Somatic Experiencing. Somatics is a body-oriented therapeutic model that helps heal trauma and other stress disorders.
