Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed in the state of Georgia. I graduated with my masters degree from Florida State University. I am passionate about helping teens to young adults who have experienced trauma or abuse, and individuals whose current life stressors are negatively impacting their ability to navigate the day to day of life without feeling overwhelmed and unmanageable. I seek to help my clients identify what they experienced, how it is interrupting their life now, and assist them in developing healthy coping skills and goals to move through life with more joy and ease.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be about getting to know you, allowing you to feel comfortable and ready to share however much you want to share with me in the beginning. We will complete a brief assessment, you'll talk to me about your challenges, hopes and desires and then together we will develop a treatment plan that reflects where you are and where you want to get to (mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually).

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider my greatest strength is helping clients understand their experiences and helping them develop the tools to overcome and not let it stop them from becoming the version of them they have only dreamed of.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my work as a clinician I have learned the benefits of using ACT therapy. The truth is sometimes you can't change your situation in that exact moment and learning to cope and manage in situations, until you can change them is a tool that we all need at some point in life. Whether it is not being able to leave a toxic job yet, since you're a single income family and you need to get the next job lined up or not being able to just stop being anxious or depressed. ACT helps clients learn to deal with difficult emotions, negative thoughts or challenging experiences when the circumstances can't quickly be changed or dealt with.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of my favorite modalities to use with clients. The way that we think impacts how we feel and how we feel impacts our behaviors/responses. CBT is about focusing on changing either our thoughts, feelings, or behaviors in order to change our experience and outcome. When working with clients who deal with depression, a behavior activation plan maybe needed. This means changing the behavior piece which will impact your mood and thoughts over time.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive processing therapy is particularly helpful with individuals who are navigating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), sexual assault, child abuse, and other types of traumas. CPT helps individuals manage negative thoughts, feelings, and symptoms. CPT allows individuals to process and work through their trauma in a non-triggering and safe environment.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma Focused CBT is really focused on helping children and adolescents who have experience trauma process and learn to cope. It provides skills to address thoughts and feelings that impact the youths day to day life. This modality can also assist parents (who did not contribute to the truama) gain tools to help them navigate their own emotions related to their child's traumatic experience.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Therapy/Treatment is exactly what it sounds like. It is a short term method of therapy that attempts to help clients identify solutions rather than focusing on their problems. Some clients don't want to gain a deeper sense of understanding of why they struggle the way they do and they just want to see changes. This can be for anyone who wants more behavior change than therapy.
