I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I have extensive experience in trauma, anxiety and couple's and grief counseling. I am a Certified Grief Therapist and a certified trauma professional. Regardless of what led you to seek counseling, I will offer you support, practical feedback, and a little bit of humor, to help you resolve the current or long-standing concerns in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I understand that looking for, and finding, a therapist you connect with, can feel overwhelming. Maybe you've sought the help of counseling in the past, or maybe this is all new to you. In any case, you probably have some questions. I will answer your questions and I will listen. Together we will come to an understanding of your current challenges, as well as your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families and military service members. Many of my clients tell me they feel stressed coming into therapy and find they are able to relax and actually come to enjoy the process. My counseling background, combined with real life experience has allowed me to connect with, and better understand, people and the challenges we face in life. I am grateful whenever I hear my clients say they feel safe, heard and accepted while working with me.

Strength-Based

The strength-based approach focuses on the the strengths a person already has, rather than what might be lacking. This method utilizes one's current knowledge and capabilities to foster growth and change.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy helps the family improve interactions through talking with each other. Improving communication, developing healthy boundaries, and reducing conflict among family members.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The Person-Centered approach, alone, or in combined with other types of therapy, can help with the challenges of anxiety, depression, abuse and grief,
