You deserve to feel well and live your most authentic life. I provide tools to help you embrace a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your coping mechanisms, improve your mood, and thrive with increased daily functioning, self-efficacy, self-esteem, self-awareness, and authentic self-expression. When life feels overwhelming, our minds can convince us that we are alone in our daily challenges and during our most difficult times. We get used to handling it on our own. I believe there is a better way. Working with a psychotherapist who can deeply connect with where you are on your healing journey can be transformative. Transformation might look like addressing symptoms, resolving a problem, or seeking something more. By guiding you to deeper insights and clearer understandings, together, we are better able to confront the barriers that may be holding you back from the life you want to live.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will discuss the specific challenges you’re facing and review information related to your medical, psychiatric, family, social, and work/education history. Then, we will create a tailored treatment plan complete with goals to guide us in our future work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience is in treating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, difficulty adjusting to life transitions, survivors of abuse and assault, gender-based violence, and LGBTQ+ and diverse populations. I have a depth of knowledge in child and human development, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma, and toxic stress which helps to inform my approach to the therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors to promote positive changes in a person's emotional well-being. We will take a deep look at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and work together to reconstruct beliefs that are untrue, unhelpful, or holding you back from reaching your goals.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced-based practice that uses the brain's natural capacity to heal to help individuals process and overcome distressing memories and experiences. EMDR is an excellent tool for person's looking to overcome trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression.

Grief Therapy

Grief and Bereavement Therapy aims to support people navigating the emotional and psychological challenges that arise following the loss of a loved one or another significant life change. We will discuss the complex process of grief, identify coping strategies, use techniques for healthful emotion expression, and explore the impact of the loss.

Feminist

Feminist Therapy focuses on the unique experiences and challenges that individuals face due to gender-related issues. We will explore how intersectionality plays a role in oppression/privilege, survey your strengths to build empowerment, and develop self-care tools to promote healing and personal growth.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is designed to help children and adolescents overcome traumatic and stressful experiences. We will learn about trauma and stress, find ways to control and healthfully express emotion, and process stressful experiences through the development of a trauma narrative.
