Hi, my name is Diane Darby and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and Tennessee. I believe you are exactly where you need to be.... Right now. Rumi said it best: "The wound is the place where the light enters you." The suffering, the vulnerability, the anger and the fear are perfect opportunities to shine a light of awareness and begin healing. I offer a safe space for each awareness to unfold without judgement. My approach tends to be ecclectic and holistic, incorporating spiritual practices to raise your consciousness in order to create alignment with your heart, body, and soul so that healing may begin. I also have over 30 years of experience with techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, (EMDR), Somatic Therapy, Mindfullness, and Internal Family Systems to gain insight, develop coping strategies, and achieve lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will begin exploring where you are currently in your life, past history and goals for therapy. We will begin to develop a level of trust and safety as we go over this information as we set the boundaries for a working therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked for over 30 years as a therapist and energy healer I believe that the integration of traditional modalities with holistic healing practices provides a complementary approach for healing and transformation.

My treatment methods

Mind-body approach

My practice is client centered and I believe in a holistic treatment approach that involves the mind, body and soul. I incorporate mindfulness, meditation, visualization, as well as IFS, and EMDR.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is used to address a wide range of psychological issues, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. It emphasizes the importance of self-compassion, self-awareness, and self-healing as individuals explore and work with their inner world of parts.

EMDR

I use EMDR primarily to treat PTSD and trauma-related conditions. It has also been used for other issues such as anxiety, depression, and phobias when those problems are linked to unresolved traumatic experiences.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I use this approach to acknowledge that family dynamics and interactions play a significant role in a child's development and mental well-being.

Trauma Informed Care

I have been using Trauma-informed therapy to address a wide range of trauma-related issues, including childhood abuse, sexual assault, combat-related trauma, accidents, and natural disasters. The goal is to support individuals in their healing journey, reduce symptoms related to trauma, and improve overall well-being while respecting their autonomy and dignity.
