Hi there! Thank you for considering me on your healing journey. I'm a licensed professional counselor based in California. I earned two Masters degrees from Loyola University New Orleans, in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Criminal Justice. As a therapist working in a city environment, I feel it to be important to understand how individuals operate within systems of society, and how to provide adequate care in response to them. I have extensive training and experience working with sexual trauma/trauma/PTSD. I prioritize sex-positive, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed care.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will discuss what prompted you to reach out and begin therapy, and any goals you may have. We'll touch on relevant background history, family of origin, successes, struggles, and anything else you feel important to share. I recognize the first session may feel intimidating and therefore will make sure to meet you where you are and work with you at your own pace.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel as though my greatest strength as a therapist is my emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a comfortable and judgment-free environment where even the darkest parts of you can feel safe to come out and be tended to. I believe we should normalize being open and honest about topics such as sex, shadowy parts, and areas we feel guilt or shame about.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I approach sessions from an ACT lens (acceptance and commitment therapy) which incorporates mindfulness to address both the internal and external changes we seek to make. I meet clients where they are and empower them to work through old narratives. I truly believe everyone is capable of profound healing, and therapy can be that transformative process.

Existential

As a therapist, I value open dialogue free of judgment that focuses on the relationship between you and I. Without a foundation of trust within our relationship, healing is unlikely to occur. I encourage connection with the present moment, no matter how tough that may be, to build the future you envision for yourself.
