My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I am rostered and certified nationally as a TF-CBT provider of care. Having worked with victims of Sexual and Physical assault, my practice is focused on identifying the potential traumatic experiences that are contributing to the concerns presenting during treatment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe the client should be an active part of their own treatment process. And I find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be very effective in engaging patients in their healing. The skills learned can be used for a lifetime and often provides the client with a feeling of control and understanding regarding their own mental health status.

Couples Counseling

Communication is Key! Teaching couples who are struggling in their relationship to listen to each other and respond constructively is my approach. Practicing love languages and finding time for each other is part of the ongoing work. Couples can learn to reconnect and find the affection and bond once again.

Family Therapy

Having been a child and family therapist for nearly 20 years, the focus of my practice is on finding the dysfunction, improving communication and healing wounds that have resulted from ongoing discord or previous experienced trauma. My methods are practical and CBT based in general.
