My name is Freedom Bowers. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been a therapist for 12 years. I have my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. My goal is to meet you where you are at. Reaching out for therapy is the first step, so we will go on the journey of exploration together to arrive at the destination you see for a healthier happier life. I look forward to working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session we will review what therapy is all about and how it will look working together. We will review the goals we want to achieve. We will then start to address why you wanted to come to therapy and what you want to work on. We will then begin our therapeutic relationship to help you have the best outcome possible.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel like I am genuine and authentic. My clients truly feel like they can be open and honest with no judgement from me.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that the way someone thinks and feels affects the way he or she behaves. CBT aims to help clients resolve present-day challenges like depression or anxiety, relationship problems, anger issues, stress, or other common concerns that negatively affect mental health and quality of life. The goal of treatment is to help clients identify, challenge, and change maladaptive thought patterns in order to change their responses to difficult situations.

Couples Counseling

My goal is to help romantic partners address relationship conflicts, improve communication, and increase affection and empathy for one another. Using the Gottman method, we will work on challenging topics to help you have a successful relationship. My goal is to help the couple learn more productive ways of managing conflict and navigating problems as they arise.

Family Therapy

Believing in a systemic view means that all things influence you and you influence all the things around you. Knowing this, we will address how the family dynamics affects everyone in the family. Sometimes understanding your family of origin experience explains how you are relating to your family currently. Each family member will work on understanding the group dynamic and how their actions affect the family as a whole.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused therapy is a strength-based approach to psychotherapy based on solution-building rather than problem-solving. Usually we can address the immediate problem in about 6 to 10 sessions to find solutions for the situation in place of focusing on the problem iteself.
