My name is Tracy and I have been working as a social worker for the past 4 years. I have worked in various settings and with a variety of different clients. I have experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use disorders, personality disorders, as well as severe mental illness. However, I prefer to treat clients based on their specific needs and symptoms, not based on their diagnosis. I often will take. from several different modalities based on the presenting problem of client.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

This session is the most important session that will really set the stage for the rest of treatment. There will be no pressure put on the client to discuss anything difficult or triggering. This is simply a session for myself and the client to get to know each other. I want the client to feel like they are in the driving seat during the first session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my deeply ingrained sense of empathy and understanding is my greatest strength in working with clients.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients that are currently having relational conflict. Often these clients have deep attachment wounds and these wounds affect their current relationships. The client and I will discuss what they need from their relationships and ways they can set boundaries and feel a sense of safety within their romantic relationships, family structures, communities, etc.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use many aspects of CBT therapy in my practice such as cognitive restructuring, challenging cognitive distortions, and behavior experiments.

Trauma Informed Care

Due to the fact that most clients come into therapy with a history of trauma, I believe it is so important for all therapists to be trauma informed.

Strength-Based

I believe that all clients are capable of accomplishing all of their goals, and the therapist is there to help facilitate that process. This can be done by learning and truly understanding the strengths of the clients, which will help facilitate growth and healing.
