Hey there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing for about 5 years. Most of my experience has been working with children, teens, and their families. I strive to create a casual and safe environment focusing on your strengths and values. I work with both children and adults who experience anxiety, depression, and trauma related stress. I also have worked with individuals and families who have experienced Commercial Sexual Exploitation/ Human Trafficking. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need support during challenging times and feel like I could be a good fit for you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session with me, we will usually start by getting to know each other. We will discover what motivates you and what your general goals are (what brought you here). We will then create a plan together and discuss next steps. I will also be available to answer any questions you may have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with children, teens, and adults, I have developed a very flexible and relaxed approach to therapy. I like to be direct and honest, while also empathetic and understanding. I understand that we all start somewhere and I believe it is important to meet people where they are at. I have experience helping individuals through many types of traumatic experiences and enjoy witnessing the change and confidence recovery can bring.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have experience utilizing ACT therapy with clients who have depression, anxiety, and issues with anger. I find this method to be helpful specifically with helping you realize what really matters to you and guide you to make a change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Primarily, I use CBT with adults and children focusing on managing emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. CBT is a great tool to help you develop skills to change unhelpful thinking patterns.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused CBT is commonly used to help children and adolescents process difficult and traumatizing experiences while also developing skills needed to manage trauma related symptoms such as emotional outbursts, anxiety, and trauma reminders.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is used to help you understand you or your loved one's diagnosis and behaviors. A mental health diagnosis can be confusing and intimidating. I will use psychoeducation with most of my clients to help you understand yourself better and how this impacts your day-to-day life.
