As a marriage, family, and couples Ph.D. candidate and a graduate of NOVA Southeastern University with an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling, I have provided care with empathy, professionalism, cultural competence, and pragmatism, as healing is a collaborative effort that requires authentic care without judgment. I use various methods to assist individuals instead of relying on a specific treatment methodology. My profession is dedicated to helping clients find solutions to life-changing circumstances, which is why I work on developing personalized treatment plans that integrate into their daily lives. As a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida, I specialize in working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, marital counseling, behavioral problems, lifestyle changes, and addictions. I have over ten years of experience delivering therapeutic services to youth, adults, and families. Apart from English, I speak Urdu and Punjabi.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I firmly believe that everyone should be treated with respect and compassion. My approach is direct, and I will aid you in challenging negative thoughts and maladaptive behaviors. My approach to psychotherapy is collaborative, and treatment plans are tailored to meet your specific needs, not one-size-fits-all. We will work together to identify and utilize your unique strengths while overcoming challenges, improving your overall well-being, and achieving your goals by developing greater self-awareness.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Through collaborative work, I ensure that the client is in control while guiding them to become the best version of themselves. I utilize Cognitive Behavior therapy, a Family System Approach, Solution-Focused, Client client-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Multicultural, Culturally Sensitive, Strength-Based, and Trauma Focused to help client reach their full potential.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am well-versed in working with the substance use population, providing services at Detox, Residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care. Working at various treatment centers has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of diagnoses and therapeutic formats (individual, family, couples, and groups). One of my strengths is working not only with individuals but also couples and families. As a therapist, academic, and mentor, I have worked with college students to provide support and therapeutic services for anxiety/stress management, assertiveness, trauma, time management issues, and acculturation adjustment.
