Do you feel like you have been stuck in a pattern that is holding you back? Have you tried everything you can think of to make a change, but are still feeling out of control or helpless? That’s where I come in. My job is to empower my clients to become more effective problem solvers. I teach them how to be confident, how to harness emotions instead of just avoiding them, and how to discover and channel a growth mindset. I utilize a skills based approach drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy to help you create a multi-faceted toolbox that can be used to face challenges disrupting your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will review my policy on confidentiality and informed consent to ensure that you are aware of what to expect when working with me. I will then work with you to identify the specific concerns that contributed to your decision to reach out for support. This will assist me in developed a treatment plan that we will work towards in follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have spent my career working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and addiction, as well as those navigating life transitions. I specialize in working along side recovery networks, with people from various economic backgrounds, and with those struggling to process time spent within the criminal Justice system.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, CBT is used as a pathway to help us understand the patterns and habits that establish what each person defines as "normal". I help my clients develop an understanding of how these patterns are maintained in an effort to show them where they can create change, and I provide skill training and exercises that can help rewrite these patterns to reflect the life they want to live.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have completed clincial trainings to help inform my delivery of this treatment to the clients I work with. I utilize DBT as a way to help clients develop tools that can be used to address concerns that range from mild discomfort to extreme disruption of their life. I find that this approach can help a person to balance a desire to create stability in their lives with a drive to improve themselves.
