Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based out of Colorado but also hold an active license in Florida. I have been in practice for 6 years and have immersed myself in my practice and continued education in order to best meet my clients needs. I specialize in treating trauma and trauma related disorders. I also have experience with treating anxiety, depression, family conflict and self-esteem.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will dive into introductions, discussing what the client is looking for in treatment, discussing their presenting concerns, symptoms and begining the clients biopsychosocial assessment. We will also discuss treatment frequency, outcomes and expectations.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being in the field for the past 6 years, I believe that my greatest strength as a therapist is being empathetic, compassionate and having excellent listening skills. This makes it easy for me to connect with people, treat the concerns they are facing and to help them to articulate their thoughts and feelings.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) since I started as a clinician. The goal of CBT is to help the client identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and to learn practical self-help strategies in order to tackle the unhelpful thoughts and learn new ways to cope, challenge thoughts and identify emotions. This modality of treatment has been very successful in helping individuals who are wanting to begin their healing journey from past traumas, both single event and complex.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I have been trained in TraumaPlay, Sandtray, Animal Assisted Play Therapy (AAPT) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I believe that in working with children on their presenting concerns, it is important to keep parents and caregivers involved in order to keep the family on the same page of meeting treatment goals and utilizing a wraparound approach.

EMDR

EMDR involves utilizing bilateral stimulation in a specific way with eyes, tapping or sound while you process traumatic memories. EMDR’s goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have spend majority of my career utilizing this modality with my clients. This modality allows the client the opportunity to process the events of their trauma at their pace while learning about thoughts, feelings and actions associated with the trauma they have experienced.
