Hi, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Virginia and Arizona. I graduated with my M.A. in Clinical Counseling in 2013 and have been practicing for ten years. I am a Certified Mood Disorder Professional (CMDP), and I specialize in woman's issues, life transitions, individuals diagnosed with mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression (as well as treatment resistant depression), and individuals with suicidal and self harming behaviors.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. This will help me to create a tailored plan for us to work through in our follow-up sessions. Our work will focus on targeting and effective behaviors and habits while decreasing negative symptoms and increasing overall functioning. I collaborate with my clients using my training in Integrative therapy, as well as solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, as well as mindfulness to promote insight and regulation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in woman’s issues, life transitions, as well as working with individuals who are diagnosed with mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression (as well as treatment resistant depression), and suicidal and self-harming behaviors. I will hold compassionate, knowledgeable, and supportive space which will help you to express, explore, and work through deeply held feelings and gain clarity and insight into critical areas of your life. I have 15+ years of experience working with teens, adults of all ages, within their communities, as well as in private practice and outpatient practices.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most effective means of treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that began with efforts to treat personality disorders and interpersonal conflicts. Evidence suggests that DBT can be useful in treating mood disorders and suicidal ideation as well as for changing behavioral patterns such as self-harm and substance use.

Jungian

Jungian therapy involves getting in touch with the unconscious mind, which he believed plays a large role in shaping people's thoughts and behavior. It can be helpful for people who are struggling with issues like depression, anxiety, and self-esteem.

Grief Therapy

Most people naturally resolve or figure out how to manage their grief over time. For many others, these emotions persist and can have severe negative impacts on their lives. The purpose of grief counseling is to help people navigate this complex process and learn how to grieve in a healthy way.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
