Welcome! I'm Liz, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Wellness Coach, Certified Grief Professional, trained in Perinatal mood and Anxiety Disorders and owner of Whole Wellness Counseling, LLC. More specifically, I am someone who can work with you to create more peace and fulfillment within your life and your relationships with others. Are you a mother who is feeling burnt out or overwhelmed with the constant responsibilities of caring for little ones? Maybe you're feeling unheard within your relationship and are looking for ways to regain that spark. Are you struggling with your past traumas or the current loss of a loved one? Do you feel like your grief is going to last forever without finding any peace? I specialize in working with mothers of young children - trained in maternal mental health. I am also trained to work with women who are struggling to move forward from the weight of their trauma, depression, and anxiety symptoms; and individuals navigating the heartbreak of loss. I will gently challenge you to make lasting behavioral changes that can have a positive impact on the overall quality of your life. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I will meet you with compassion and grace using evidence-based techniques with a laid-back approach. Together we can find a healthy and fulfilling balance to handle whatever season of life you may be in. I can't wait to meet you! wholewellnesscounselingllc.com

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll chat about your history, why you're seeking therapy and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. I strive to meet my clients where they're at in their journey and create a space that's comfortable and non-intimidating.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My specialty is providing individuals and women with the skills and techniques to guide them in overcoming their depression and anxiety and to help them make sense of things that feel overwhelming. I am most passionate about working with young mothers and women. I have training in postpartum depression with pre-certification in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, grief and loss, trauma, depression and anxiety and whole-person wellness. I approach all clients with compassion and empathy and enjoy helping others. My biggest strength is working with young mothers to find peace and self-acceptance to help them navigate this season of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts have so much to do with our moods and behaviors. Intrusive (or uncontrolled) thoughts can impact your mood in such an intense way. Wouldn't it be nice to have more control over those types of thoughts, in turn improving your mood and behaviors? Cognitive Behavioral therapy can do just that. We can work together to challenge certain thoughts and work through them in order to improve overall functioning and life satisfaction.

Grief Therapy

Grief comes in many different shapes and sizes - the loss of a relationship, a loved one or something else that held meaning to you. Some grief is more complicated than others - more traumatic. Grief has no timeline. No "one size fits all" type of treatment. There are proven ways to help you to learn to live with your loss and in time, find more peace rather than pain surrounding the memory of your loved one. Honoring them, telling their story, and helping you heal is the focus of our grief work.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Tapping into our physical reactions to situations helps us better understand the "why" behind our reactions. Do you ever feel like you're reacting quicker than you're thinking? When you're anxious - what does that feel like? Mindfulness practices can help improve emotional regulation, depression symptoms and even improve concentration. Using mindfulness can help you tap into these skills and create a space for you to pause and process before reacting. I commonly use this technique when working with the peri and post natal population as it can help to reduce post partum depression symptoms.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Utilizing ACT can help to engage and focus you in on the present moment and to accept your thoughts, feelings and emotions without judgement. In using ACT within our sessions, we will aim to help you move forward through difficult emotions and focus your energy into healing, instead of dwelling on the negative.
