Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas since 2002, and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) since 2004. I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Psychology and Child Development, and a Masters from Texas State in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family systems. I have been working with children, teens and parents for over 20 years and enjoy helping them as they navigate the challenges of life!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other, and your reasons for seeking counseling services. We will go over the intake form and you can tell me about what struggles you are having. Depending on your age, the parents may be in the first session to get background information and parenting concerns as well.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I went into the counseling profession because I had a deep empathy for children/teens and the struggles they have. I knew I could help them work through their issues in a warm, caring and genuine approach. I meet the client where they are currently, and then we come up with a plan to help their presenting problem.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I believe that every person is a unique individual, and brings their own set of issues and beliefs to therapy. There is not one treatment for all, so I work with the client to formulate the best strategy for them. It could be Cognitive Behavioral, to Solution Focused, but I meet the client where they are, and listen with a Person Centered lens, being authentic and authentically hearing them. We may do directive activities such as Sandtray online, to worksheets/homework. This method works with all presenting problems from anxiety and depression, to school/work anxiety, family issues, social issues, etc.
