My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.

Christian Counseling

Effective counseling addresses the body, mind, and spirit. The field of counseling has been slow in recognizing the need to address spiritual and religious concerns. There is now widespread interest in the role of spirituality in both assessment and treatment. Evidence for this interest is found in the many books and articles written on spiritual and religious values in counseling. I utilize a holistic approach in therapy to help improve health and wellness through the body, mind, and soul.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling, AKA marriage counseling, is a type of counseling for intimate partners. It addresses conflicts between the partners, is often short-term, and focuses on specific problems. Other goals of couples counseling are improving communication and interactions and strengthening relationships.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT’s ultimate goal is to help you live a life you feel good about. A meaningful, fulfilling life looks different for each person. This is why my role is to help people hone in on what’s important to them and come up with a personalized treatment plan to help reach those goals. DBT addresses: Mindfulness Distress Tolerance Interpersonal Effectiveness Emotional regulation
