Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing outpatient mental health therapy since 2012. Before doing outpatient therapy, I worked in various treatment facilities and provided in-home services to children, adolescents, and families. Since becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked alongside folks ranging from 3 to 93 years old, and no matter their age, they came out of therapy with several valuable tools to add to their quality of life. I can work on many issues with individuals, children, teens, families, and couples. I also provide treatment for mood challenges, anxiety, attention, impulse control, and trauma.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will discuss your challenges so that we can develop an individualized plan for your situation. I would also like to leave you something you can try in the first session to get you experiencing results as soon as possible. By the end of the session, we will have a tailored plan that we can work together on in our follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been in the field of helping others since 2003 and doing outpatient therapy. During that time, I gained vast experience in addressing challenges as they were presented. I work with you to determine the roots of your challenges and work towards a healthy quality of life where the results, when applied as discussed, will yield long-term success for you. My job has always been to build up others, help them to grow themselves and their relationships, and work myself out of a job one individual, couple, or family at a time because they have been able to address the challenges they once faced with success.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve a wide variety of individuals. I have worked most of my career with children, teens, and adults. I can work with couples' challenges to help them come to a healthy resolution. Families have come to me to address challenges they have faced in getting along and managing mood, anxiety, impulse control, or trauma challenges that have interfered with family functioning with positive results. While I work with many age groups to address issues with mood, anxiety, attention, impulse control, anger management, and conflict resolution, I also work with folks who have experienced trauma. I provide two different types of trauma therapy, including Cognitive Processing Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These trauma treatments are very effective in addressing trauma challenges, and I look forward to helping you work through the roadblocks in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a versatile and effective treatment for a wide range of mental health challenges. It targets problematic patterns and helps people handle difficult situations by breaking them into more manageable parts. CBT helps people learn and apply the ability to develop coping skills and information that will help them with emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy is a specialized and effective form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that treats thoughts, emotions, and behaviors resulting from various traumatic events. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has a structure for sessions, Cognitive Processing Therapy is even more tailored to trauma treatment. Sessions will be individualized while maintaining the research-based structure that has assisted so many people with treating their trauma reactions.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as developed by Cohen, Mannarino, and Deblinger, uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques designed for parents and children to prevent and treat trauma symptoms and behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a person-centered treatment that addresses change by utilizing a supportive therapeutic relationship. It is valuable in addressing many mental health challenges through empathy and working together through the change process.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care recognizes people's life experiences and the impact trauma has on functioning and relationships, helping them find paths to recovery and wellness.
