With 25 years of experience in the field of mental health, I welcome the opportunity to partner with you in embracing your life's challenges. I believe that you have a compass within that can help you to self-direct and move out of any current and future strife. You can find your center, your own wisdom, and get unstuck! Let's work on it together. Currently working with adults, I offer counseling in the areas of: Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Intimacy-related issues, Anger management, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Compassion fatigue, Codependency, Communication Problems, Dissociation, Domestic Violence, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Emptiness, Family of Origin Issues, Family Problems, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, Depression, Hospice and End of Life Counseling, Isolation/Loneliness, Jealousy, Life Purpose, Obsessions, Compulsions, and OCD, Panic Disorder and Panic Attacks, Self-Love, Social Anxiety and Phobia, and Workplace Issues. My style of counseling is warm, informal, compassionate and collaborative. I'm here to help you find your own answers and make the needed plans to create movement and change in your life. It would be an honor and privilege to participate in your healing journey. The time for change is now and I'm here to help!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will work to get to know you. I want to learn about your strengths and the areas in your life in which you would like to see change. We'll talk about what approaches have worked for you in the past, those that have failed, and those you haven't yet tried! By the end of the first session, you'll have ideas and concepts to work with until our next session.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize an electic approach to counseling, utilizing methods from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Humanistic, Mindfulness, Existential and Gestalt theory among others. I often give "homework" to be done between sessions and then discussed at the next session. Writing, journaling, art therapy, tracking feelings/thoughts/behaviors through ratings and scales, and enhancing self care and awareness are all common themes in my work with clients.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is my compassion and willingness to meet people where they are. In order to get traction to move into the future we desire, we have to be firmly planted in the present. Being fully in the present requires acceptace and awareness. I believe I am talented at helping clients to understand and embrace their current reality. I offer a safe space to feel, talk and think without judgement.
