I am a psychotherapist in White Plains, NY, with a focus on treating individuals, couples, and families. I work as a bilingual school-based clinician with MHA Westchester, based in the North Rockland school system, and an LMFT in private practice at Bridge To Bliss Therapy. I hold certifications from the Center for Practice Innovations at Columbia Psychiatry and NYU Grossman School of Medicine, two prestigious post-graduate programs. In addition, I have training in the Gottman Method for couples. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Integrated Mental Health/Addictions Treatment Training (IMHATT), and Managing & Adapting Practice (MAP).

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first therapy session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they can freely express themselves without judgment. We'll begin by discussing their reasons for seeking therapy and what they hope to achieve. I'll explain the therapeutic process, confidentiality, and answer any questions they may have. We'll explore their personal history, including relevant experiences and relationships, to gain a comprehensive understanding of their concerns. Together, we'll establish goals for therapy and begin to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to their needs. Clients can expect to feel heard, supported, and empowered as we embark on their therapeutic journey together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My practice, which is based on a systems framework, places a strong emphasis on providing a secure and accepting environment where clients can discuss issues, develop relationships, and explore obstacles. I am a strong proponent of collaborative therapy, where clients and I work together to develop objectives and tactics that will lead to positive change. Whether it's dealing with communication problems, handling life changes, or handling interpersonal disputes, my mission is to enable people and families to create happier, healthier relationships.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely practiced form of psychotherapy that focuses on the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It aims to help individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. CBT is evidence-based and often used to treat various mental health conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression, and PTSD. It typically involves structured sessions with a therapist, where techniques like cognitive restructuring and behavioral experiments are employed to promote lasting change and improve overall well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It focuses on identifying clients' strengths and resources to help them envision a preferred future and develop practical steps to achieve their goals. SFBT is typically brief and future-focused, with therapists guiding clients through questions and exercises to facilitate positive change. This approach is often used to address a wide range of issues, including relationship problems, substance abuse, and behavioral challenges, by empowering clients to build on their existing strengths and abilities.

Gottman method

The Gottman Method is a couples therapy approach developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It is grounded in extensive research on relationship dynamics and focuses on improving communication, understanding, and intimacy between partners. The method utilizes assessment tools to identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement in the relationship. Therapists using the Gottman Method help couples develop skills to manage conflict constructively, deepen emotional connection, and build a foundation of trust and mutual respect. Techniques such as the "Sound Relationship House" and "Love Maps" are commonly employed to facilitate lasting positive change in couples' relationships.
