Hi, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) located in California. I am a mental health professional who specializes in providing therapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. I am trained to address a wide range of issues, including relationship problems, communication difficulties, and emotional challenges within the context of family and marriage dynamics. I received my degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Pheonix and a second degree in Mental Health and Wellness in Christian Ministry from Grand Canyon University.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with a brief introduction followed by what brought you to therapy. I will then be able to collaborate in developing a personalized plan that will outline our time together. My goal for the first session is to begin to build the foundation that will allow you to begin the healing process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some of my personal strengths include: the ability to express thoughts, ideas, and feelings clearly and effectively. Using active listening to understand and respond to others. Having empathy and compassion. Understanding one's own emotions and their impact. Managing and controlling one's emotions effectively. Being able to inspire and motivate myself and others. Being truthful and transparent in interactions. Making decisions based on moral principles. Being receptive to new ideas and perspectives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It is a goal-oriented, practical approach that helps individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how these factors can contribute to various mental health issues. I have 20 years of experience providing CBT therapy within group settings as well as individual setting.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) that was initially developed to treat individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). Since its development, DBT has been found to be effective for a range of mental health conditions characterized by emotional dysregulation. I have 5 years of experience providing DBT in both group settings as well as individual setting.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy, also known as client-centered or Rogerian therapy, is a humanistic approach to psychotherapy developed by Carl Rogers in the 1950s. This therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that individuals have the capacity for self-awareness, self-direction, and personal growth. Person-Centered Therapy emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic environment to facilitate the client's self-exploration and self-actualization. I have 20 years of experience providing Person centered therapy within group settings as well as individual setting.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented, strengths-based therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and building solutions rather than dwelling on problems. Developed by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg in the 1980s, SFBT is particularly known for its brief and practical nature, often producing positive results in a relatively short time frame. I have 5 years of experience providing SFBT in both family settings as well as individual setting.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is an approach to providing services and support that recognizes and responds to the widespread impact of trauma on individuals. It acknowledges the prevalence of trauma in the lives of many people and seeks to create an environment that promotes safety, trust, and empowerment. This approach is applied across various settings, including mental health care, healthcare, education, social services, and more. I have 20 years of experience providing Trauma Informed Care therapy within group settings as well as individual setting.
