I focus on understanding your history, its impact and how to help you make adjustments that ease your path forward. My expertise includes anxiety, depression, relationship and work/career concerns among others. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. I truly care about the well-being of others and helping people navigate life’s challenges so that they feel better about themselves and can live a more fulfilling life. If I don't have an appointment available that works for you, feel free to reach out to me to ask if I may have any other times available soon.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, we will review basic logistics of therapy, explore your history, and discuss the issues that have brought you to seek services. I will ask a lot of questions initially because I care about who you are and what brought you in. Once I understand these aspects of your situation, we will talk about specific goals you would like to create for our work together and that will allow us to develop a plan for how we will move forward together. In future sessions, there will be fewer questions and you will be doing more talking.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Creating emotional safety is a key I strive for so that you feel comfortable sharing whatever is on your mind and in your heart. I have worked with a lot of people experiencing anxiety, depression and work stressors. I have a structured set of CBT materials I use to help people develop coping skills and improve their self-esteem. My leadership background is a strength along with my open minded world view and training. I listen and provide encouragement and support that are critical to good therapy. I have a track record for building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients and helping them set boundaries. Navigating workplace anxiety is a strength and area of specialization for me.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
I enjoy working with adults who are facing anxiety, career issues and those who are trying to make meaning out of life. My background serves me especially well in supporting working professionals who experience anxiety. The burnout, stress and depression that can come from feeling alone or overwhelmed deserve attention. I am passionate about assisting people in finding the tools that will help them feel better and grow as well as understand more about who they are. Many of my clients feel anxious and/or depressed about the challenges of serving multiple roles such as that of spouse, parent, and working professional. People who have spent a lot of their life feeling invalidated will find a safe space in working with me.
