As an Art Therapist and Counselor I am passionate about providing a safe and creative space for the session. It can be daunting to start the process of getting help, although, art making in therapy can help ease this transition. You do not need art experience to benefit from the healing art therapy offers. I graduated from Antioch University Seattle with a Master’s of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy. While a graduate student at Antioch I completed my practicum leading Art Therapy groups for incarcerated women and survivors of domestic violence. I then completed my clinical internship working with youth and their families in the community mental health setting in Seattle, WA. My post-graduate work includes bringing mental health services into the public school setting, working to provide accessible art therapy services to children and families, and providing Art Therapy groups for trauma and addiction. I enjoy helping manage anxiety, finding positive coping skills, and building self-esteem. I work with families to find healing by building stronger relationships. I most often works from a mindfulness, trauma focused client-centered and strength-based perspective. My goal as a counselor and art therapist is to help client’s cultivate the strengths they already possess and help them grow. I believe strongly in resilience. My therapeutic approach is warm and welcoming, and I encourage you to take the first step towards healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I will briefly introduce myself as a therapist, make time for you to ask questions (starting therapy can be daunting), and discuss what brings you to therapy/your goals for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is my variety of experiences. I've worked with many different populations in different settings. I think this has allowed me to become a well rounded counselor and art therapist. My background as an art therapist makes me unique because I believe art therapy can serve as a powerful tool for healing, self-discovery, and growth.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages. I have worked with children, teens, and adults on family challenges and relational issues. Through my training I am able to support and help the client identify challenges in their life to help figure out how to create change while focusing on the whole person.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I use attachment-based therapy to help individuals explore their attachment styles to identify how they can improve relationships and heal past traumas.

Feminist

I utlized feminist therapy treatment in my therapy practice because I believe all individuals including marginalized groups deserve a safe space to engage in the therapeutic process.

Strength-Based

I utilize strength-based therapy methods because I believe as people we each have the answers we need to move forward/grow/heal inside of us. This happens when we can cultivate the strength and resilience we already possess.
