Hello, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) currently practicing in California. I received my Masters Degree from the National University in Sacramento and have over 20 years experience working with every walk of life from at-risk youth to adult inmate patients. My specialties include crisis intervention, moderate-to-high acuity, mood disorders, and other mental illnesses.

In our first session together, we will identify goals for therapy and find out what style of therapy would best suite your needs. We will also go into your history of mental health service along with what services seem to show the best improvements in your life in order to create a personalized ideal environment for change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in the mental health field for the past 30 years, I have experience in various aspects of therapy and behavioral assistance. I also pride myself as a social chameleon, being able to connect on a personal level in order to better understand your personal challenges. I am very straight and direct in my manner, being able to speak on a real level while maintaining compassion and empathy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work primarily with developing new habits, routines, and coping mechanisms in order to assist patients with their mental illnesses that may impacting their daily life and ability to achieve their goals. I have many years of experience assisting those who are impacted by ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, a well as challenges with relationships, schooling, and job performance.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized cognitive behavioral therapy interventions for over twenty years working with adults children couples and families. I discuss how thoughts lead to feelings. We examine core beliefs and any distortions that may be leading to negative feelings causing issues and/or challenges in their life. We discuss how to change their thoughts and behaviors which lead to less challenges and better outcomes in relationships.

Family Therapy

I focused on family therapy through treatment foster family models. Working to differentiate between attachment and discipline methods to promote better relationships in families for children and parents.
