Greetings! I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and have worked with offenders, anger management clients, couples, teens and adults struggling with ADHD, anxiety and depression. Through a strengths based approach, my clients learn more about themselves thus improving self-confidence, communication, mood and overall outlook on life. I love serving my teen and couples clients via the Gallup strengths test. This test helps individuals understand where their energy is highest and what they value most. It's not about "strengths", but values. I believe one of the best things we can do for ourselves is take the time to truly understand ourselves as this helps us learn to communicate effectively, be productive, overcome procrastination and more. This is one tool of many I enjoy using to help my clients.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. The better I understand you, your needs and goals, the sooner I can help you find and implement solutions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with teens and couples for the past 7 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. I love using humor to break down walls and make everyone feel comfortable. I have a gift at helping my client(s) feel "seen" and understood.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I have the privilege of helping teens, adults and couples communicate effectively and clearly and identify their feelings through a Biblical lense. While the world is telling us who we are and how to feel, I point my Christian clients to the Bible to work through difficult situations and feelings. I also have a unique and fun approach when using the Gallup strengths test. Learning about oneself helps us appreciate who we are as God designed us and also helps us to understand and accept our spouse.

Couples Counseling

Working with couples is a treat. I have been married 11 years myself. Learning about one another and how to effectively communicate is life changing. I have helped couples transform their relationship through the use of the Gallup strengths test, simple communication tools and emotions identifiers. I keep it "down to earth" in session and love to use humor when appropriate. If you find yourselves having the same fight, stuck in the same frustrating patterns or going through a difficult trauma or situation, I would be honored to work with you.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am a big advocate for finding out the "why" behind the behavior and feeling. Sometimes a seemingly complex and heavy state of mind has a rather simple reason. I teach coping skills and offer "homework" to practice at home after each session. I find this helps the individual or couple create new healthy habits.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I find my teen clients benefit greatly from this mode of therapy to learn more about themselves. Any individual who struggles to identify their feelings or express emotion would benefit from this mode of therapy. It is a great way to identify and overcome negative thoughts, communicate effectively and process emotions in a healthy way.
