Hey there! My name is Alyson Morgan, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and clinical supervisor. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in need. For three years, I devoted myself to being a full-time therapist in private practice. During this time, I developed a particular interest in working with children and adolescents in the foster care system, as well as those affected by trauma. In 2020, I left my therapeutic practice and joined a local university as a full-time instructor in the social work program; driven by my commitment to professional growth, I graduated with my DSW (Doctorate in Social Work) in January 2023, with an emphasis on teaching, leadership, and clinical practice. Through educating future social work students, I realized my passion is helping others achieve their highest potential through the art of therapy and fostering therapeutic relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Therapy helps clients uncover strengths and learn new skills that will allow them to deal with the challenges that arise in life. A successful therapy experience does not mean a client is cured, it means the person has the inner and outer resources to deal with the ups and downs of life. My goal is to help my clients develop the skills necessary to successfully deal with life, on life's terms. I understand that taking the first step to getting help is difficult, and I'm proud of you for taking that step. Now let's work together to meet your goals.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My treatment modalities are client-focused and specific to each presenting problem. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. I have training and experience utilizing a wide range of theories and therapeutic techniques. Some include behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), play therapy, person-in-environment, and solution-focused.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Therapy is an intimate experience, a collaboration between you and the therapist. I take that role seriously and understand that to do my best work, I need to understand each client holistically, including their environment, background, and systems in which they operate. I feel like my biggest strength is the ability to see a client's strengths, empower them to achieve their goals, and support them throughout the therapeutic process.
