I am a holistic practitioner, a licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 18 years of experience in individual and group counseling, working in inpatient and outpatient settings with dually diagnosed persons. I have a doctorate in Education with a focus on Organizational Leadership. I am a dedicated practitioner who believes that people can and do recover. Recovery happens daily, and everyone has a choice in how it happens. My specialty is transpersonal therapy and CBT. I have worked with adults who struggle with emotional and social challenges, such as anxiety, anger management, communication skills, and self-esteem. My focus includes immigration evaluations, military service members, LBGTQ+ individuals, and business leaders. I approach my work with multicultural competence and through a collaborative style.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is about whether the client and I are a good fit. We do this through conversations about what brought them to therapy, what worked in the past, and what outcomes they want to achieve.

In session, we may explore your journaling about your thoughts throughout the day and record your feelings about your thoughts; use worksheets to address your thinking and learn coping skills; at times, we may discuss scheduling activities you used to enjoy.

In a session, the therapy centers around your unique experience and perspective in an empathic, genuine concern for you and your experience; this type of therapy is client-centered and is focused on helping you achieve your potential.

In a session, a holistic approach to therapy is taken, emphasizing spirituality; we work through your mental, physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual needs to create healing and growth.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In the session, we explore feelings and thoughts that come up and let them go; from there you can approach these feelings from a non-judgmental, clear, and calmer state of mind.
