Hi, I'm Jo! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I am based in Texas. I received my Masters in social work from University of Texas at Arlington. I have been working in the mental health field for 6 years and have 4 years of experience specifically in the therapeutic setting. I have experience with partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. With this experience, I would like to build long-term relationships with clients and help you achieve your goals. I have seen first-hand the benefit of individual/couples therapy, therefore I would like to help you reach your personal goals. I view therapy as a opportunity to work on yourself and be the best version of yourself!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Receiving therapy services can be a challenge, I would like to acknowledge that and provide a safe space for you to share what is on your mind. In our first session, we will start with brief introductions and gain a better understanding on what you are looking forward to in sessions together. Building rapport would be our next step, getting to know each other and what is needed to achieve your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I truly value and empathize with each individual that I have worked with. YOU are the expert in your life, emotions, and experiences. I am simply a guide through your process.

DBT is a therapy that focuses on developing skills to manage intense emotions and negotiating social relationships.

EMDR

I am currently getting trained in EMDR to address any trauma/complex trauma. This treatment has proved to improve the level of disturbance that past experiences are causing.
