Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I specialize in helping clients with trauma and PTSD, Personality and Mood Disorders, so that they can lead happy and more fulfilling lives. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work from Marywood University in 2015 and I have been practicing in this field ever since. I also really enjoy all forms of Family Therapy to help people heal relationships and communicate better with those they love most.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session we will go through your intake information, what is bringing you to therapy, what you hope to get out of therapy and your background that may have led to the difficulties you are now experiencing. I will answer any questions and we will build rapport in a very calm and non judgmental setting.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Compassionate, relaxed, my approach tends to be not giving people lots of worksheets to complete, but rather to go on a journey of self exploration for the client to figure out for themselves who they are as individuals and what is causing their distress and I am just there to guide this process while utilizing elements of different therapeutic models to get you there.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have a particular affinity for working with clients who struggle with trauma and PTSD, as well as those who struggle with Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders and anxiety. I really enjoy helping people to heal their past so that they can move on to a happy and fulfilling future. Clients who are looking to health themselves and their relationships with others in a relaxed, no pressure environment tend to work best with me!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will look at distortions in thinking and person about self and others which create distress or difficulties in areas of life functioning and work to find a more healthy and balanced thought. We will also look at how those distortions started and became ingrained as I believe the more you understand about how and why you process information the way you do is a big step in recovering and challenging unhealthy and unhelpful perceptions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I often incorporate elements of DBT in my practice such as mindfulness, radical acceptance and stopping automatic feelings of rejection and looking at other possibilities for why people respond as they do in certain situations in order to help clients better regulate their emotions and not feel as easily hurt by behavior that may have little or nothing to do with them.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

We explore ways that family dynamics work, areas where resentments or negative perceptions exist between members and work to restructure and rebuild any difficult or broken relationships by fostering understanding between members.
