I am a first generation Spanish-speaking Mexican-American female who had been fortunate enough to be able to work in a field that I am passionate about, psychology. I have a wide breadth of experience, from the juveniles and their families who found themselves caught in the correctional systems, to families involved in the child welfare system, as well as adolescents, adults, and elderly who have decided that they were not living up to their potential and wanted to improve their functioning and happiness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, I will introduce clients to the concept of therapy, the way in which I practice, and help them understand the process and security/safety in the space. I also work to gather information about them, their circumstance, and their goals so that we can develop a plan of action to reach their goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that I am easy to connect with/talk to and have a great amount of experience that helps me to work well with a variety of people, contexts, and difficulties.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work well with adults and elderly. I have experience with those struggling with medical issues and need assistance coping with transitions. Given that I am first generation Mexican-American and Spanish speaking, I work well with Latinx populations and minorities.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

While emotions can be difficult to simply change, process, or release, the way that we perceive/understand/think about the world around us affects the way that we feel about it. Learning to rethink the situation, then helps us process and manage it more effectively. This is how CBT is used to help people feel better and function better in their daily lives.
