My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that contribute to distressing emotions and behaviors. Through collaborative goal setting and structured interventions, I teach clients adaptive coping strategies and problem-solving skills to modify negative thinking and behavior patterns. By fostering awareness of the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, I empower clients to develop more balanced and effective ways of interpreting and responding to life's challenges, leading to symptom relief and improved overall well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) by implementing a structured approach that integrates mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Through collaborative goal setting, validation of experiences, and teaching practical techniques, I help clients develop coping strategies for managing intense emotions, navigating interpersonal conflicts, and building a life worth living. I empower clients to cultivate self-awareness, regulate emotions, and make meaningful life changes by fostering a supportive therapeutic environment and encouraging active participation.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize Motivational Interviewing by employing empathetic listening, evoking clients' intrinsic motivations for change, and collaboratively exploring ambivalence. Through reflective listening and open-ended questions, I guide clients in clarifying their goals, values, and reasons for change. I help clients resolve ambivalence and strengthen their commitment to positive change by emphasizing autonomy and highlighting discrepancies between current behaviors and desired outcomes. This client-centered approach fosters a supportive therapeutic alliance and promotes sustained motivation for behavior change.

Trauma Informed Care

I utilize trauma-informed care by creating a safe and supportive environment that prioritizes sensitivity to the impact of trauma on individuals' lives. Through a lens of understanding and validation, I recognize the prevalence of trauma and its potential effects on clients' physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. I integrate trauma-sensitive practices into therapy, such as ensuring choice and autonomy, promoting empowerment, and avoiding re-traumatization. By fostering trust, respect, and collaboration, I empower clients to navigate their healing journey at their own pace, promoting resilience and recovery.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

I utilize prolonged exposure therapy by systematically exposing clients to trauma-related memories, emotions, and situations in a safe and controlled environment while simultaneously teaching them coping skills to manage distress. Through repeated and prolonged exposure to the traumatic memories or cues, therapists help clients process and integrate the traumatic experiences, reducing avoidance and fear. By guiding clients through imaginal exposure and in vivo exposure exercises, I facilitate habituation to the distressing stimuli and promote emotional processing, ultimately leading to symptom reduction and increased functioning.
