Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my Bachelors from U.C. Berkeley and my Master's from Argosy University (East Bay)and have been practicing for approximately 18 years. I love t0 help teens and young adults struggling with stress, typically as it relates to life transitions and various forms of burnout become the best versions of themselves. In the past, I've worked as a therapist alongside the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) to assist in the process of reunifying children with their parents.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with children and adolescents for the past 18 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges, and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

You are the expert on yourself. At times, our lives can become so complex, confusing, and frustrating that our emotions can rule our lives. DBT provides clients with a set of practical skills that can be used to manage intense emotions and better navigate challenging interpersonal situations. In therapy, I help my clients incorporate mindfulness techniques, interpersonal effectiveness skills, and focus on emotional regulation to slowly dismantle beliefs and behaviors which can negatively impact our lives.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

By focusing on the client's subjective experience, emotions, and perceptions, there can be a safe and non-judgmental space for them to explore freely. I use this method in my practice to maintain the empathy and integrity needed to help the client "detangle" some of the main barriers to their wellness and focus on self-growth.

Trauma-Focused CBT

The main components of TF-CBT is to ensure that the narrative of a specific or series of traumatic events result in the client and those within the client's "inner circle" (if available) can be educated about the impact of trauma. Slow, but consistent exposure to the unfolding of the details of this trauma can reduce some of the power that the trauma has held over their lives. I have assisted children as young as 5 years of age and adults well into their 20s and 30s utilizing this system with promising and ground-breaking results.
