Hey there! I'm Jasmine It might be intimidating, puzzling, or exhilarating to begin treatment, so take a moment to celebrate that you've made the initial move in improving your mental health! My goal is to establish a friendly and secure space where clients feel comfortable discussing challenges pertaining to self-care, depression, and/or anxiety. My area of expertise is assisting clients in creating boundaries and assertive communication with both themselves and those around them in order to enhance their quality of life. Whatever form of personal growth you may be pursuing, counseling may support it and help you create the life you so richly deserve. When you're ready to share, I'm here if that's what you're looking for.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We will work together to figure out your goals and challenges, as well as how you want your life to look in three, six, and a year's time. We'll then point out options and approaches you can use to get there. By using a "actions I can take right now" approach, you'll walk out of the session with a greater grasp of the challenges you're facing. Regarding how we collaborate, there will always be space for suggestions, including how to hold one another accountable.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As an experienced provider, I've developed a number of methods for helping to identify and achieve goals

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In ACT, clients learn to accept their thoughts and feelings rather than trying to control or eliminate them, while also committing to actions that align with their values. As a therapist, my experience with ACT involves guiding clients through exercises such as mindfulness meditation, identifying personal values, and setting meaningful goals. Through this process, clients often develop greater resilience, improved emotional regulation, and a deeper sense of purpose in their lives

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my clinical practice, I've employed various CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and exposure therapy to help clients challenge and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. This often involves collaboratively setting goals, identifying and challenging negative beliefs, and practicing new coping skills. Through CBT, clients can develop more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving, leading to symptom reduction and improved quality of life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my clinical experience, I've utilized DBT techniques to help clients build skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This often involves teaching clients mindfulness practices to increase awareness of their thoughts and emotions, providing strategies to tolerate distress without resorting to harmful behaviors, assisting in identifying and regulating intense emotions, and improving communication and relationship skills. Through DBT, clients can learn to manage their emotions more effectively, enhance their interpersonal relationships, and cultivate a greater sense of well-being and stability.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my clinical practice, I've employed Person-Centered Therapy, also known as Rogerian therapy, which emphasizes creating a supportive and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel accepted and understood. My experience with this approach involves actively listening to clients, demonstrating empathy, and fostering a genuine and authentic therapeutic relationship. Rather than providing direct advice or interpretation, I strive to help clients explore their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. Through this process of self-exploration and reflection, clients often gain greater insight into themselves, develop a stronger sense of self-acceptance, and experience personal growth and empowerment.
