Hello! Since 2009, I've been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in OH specializing in helping people manage their moods effectively to meet their goals. I work with people of all ages utilizing a unique approach to equip each client to thrive in life. I especially enjoy working with young adults. With specialties in Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I love to integrate a creative approach. My focus work includes Christian counseling, anxiety, depression, PTSD, women’s issues, trauma, grief, life transitions, and faith conflicts. I commonly work with children, adolescents, young adults, and women. I earned a Masters Degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University with an internship at University of Toledo Medical Center in Child Psychiatry PHP and outpatient units. Christy also worked alongside a team in TX at an outpatient private practice specializing in children and adolescent issues. My experience has allowed me to serve in the Psychology industry since 2001 when I began as an administrative assistant at a Psychologist office. I completed graduate school in 2008 and has worked in several different areas including private practice, inpatient, geriatrics, Partial Hospitalizaiton, and Intensive Outpatient Programs conducting both group and individual therapy. Christy has volunteered to facilitate group counseling for Domestic Violence victims and also led several faith based CBT groups for emotional healing in the community. Born in Michigan, I've lived in 6 different states in my adult life, residing in Ohio since 2019. In my downtime, you can catch me baking with family, writing at my favorite coffee shop, laughing with family, listening to live music, walking in nature, or doing a Barre workout.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Statistically, the #1 reason therapy is successful for any client is a good connection with your therapist. During the first session, I take extra time to get to know you and let you get to know me, asking you many questions to understand the specifics of your background and current circumstances to ensure we develop a good plan to move forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My unique superpower is visual motivation. I like to offer many visuals to help educate, equip and motivate my clients for optimal success. Trust is also very important and an intricate part of emotional health. I strive to create an environment where each client can find authentic trust to process and grow. I love to help clients set clear goals and meet those goals, assessing any mental barriers along the way preventing the completion of those goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Since 2008, I have been training my clients to reframe thoughts to improve mood and have success in meeting their goals.

Christian Counseling

Over the years, I've observed how values are deeply personal and an intricate part of emotional and physical health. Faith and conflicts of faith significantly effect emotional health. I incorporate prayer with clients who find this approach beneficial as prayer is a powerful tool to bring peace and healing to soul wounds.

Compassion Focused

Without compassionate care, we cannot find the trust needed to be successful in therapy. Trust is an important and intricate part of emotional health that only comes through authentic compassion for one another. Highly sensitive clients needs these characteristics to heal.
