My name is Tyne Amos. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is licensed in Oregon and Florida. I received my Masters of Social Work from Asbury University. I love working with clients in helping them return home to themselves by addressing trauma and adversity and being able to live into their values. I aim to help clients explore what is means to live a full, meaningful, and joyful life. I absolutely love being able to help people reduce distress in their life and move to living the life they have always wanted to live.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will spend time getting to know each other. I will ask introductory questions about what concerns bring you to therapy. We will talk about confidentiality and housekeeping topics as well as dialogue about potential treatment options. We will talk about goals and hopes you have for the therapeutic process. I love learning about who you are and what your hopes are at the first session!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Things that I am passionate are helping people heal from trauma and live and abundant life. I love working with an individual on treating and mental health diagnoses and past traumas and help them move toward living the life they were always meant to live. With a trauma informed, person centered, and evidenced based approach, it is an amazing journey to see people move from a place of brokenness to a place of wholeness.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I operate with a trauma informed perspective. The impact that trauma can have on every areas of our lives make it essential to address trauma in order to experience full healing. Operating with this viewpoint allows me to provide empathy for clients and allow them to process the past to help deal with the present and future. I utilize trauma informed cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing).

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an essential therapy I utilize in work with clients. Understanding how experiences impact how we think about ourselves as well as the situation. This in turn impacts our behaviors and how we manage our situation. Using this approach is effective for clients dealing with an array of issues including depression and anxiety.

EMDR

EMDR is an incredibly effective therapy that assists clients with the process of fully processing a traumatic event and the sensations and emotions that are associated with it. This work helps the client experience triggers in a less activated way and can totally shift the impact that the trauma has had on the individuals life, physical body, and thought processes and core beliefs. The eye movements in this process are effective in expediating that processing. Improvement can be seen very quickly with this type of therapy, even some experiencing immediate relief from the distressing event.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy is needed as an individual begins to provess a loss or sadness. This can betherapy regarding an event that occurred or loss of a loved one, or an experience of reality that does not align with the clients wants and expectations. Sadness about a number of things can manifest in grief. Grief therapy allows the client to conceptualize their reality and learn healthy ways to process and move through that grief.
